The origins of the bergamot orange are still uncertain, whether it derives from a lemon or a bitter orange, but the plant most likely comes from Calabria where it is still cultivated along the coastal area. The bergamot orange is rich in vitamins with antioxidant properties and is an important source of flavonoids which have a beneficial effect on tissues and the circulation.
